John sent me this picture of Augies sandrail (welded by John Meade) which Augie let him use one summer if he wired it up and got it registered. It was blue back then. I remember it having the old 1968 VW wheels (which is what the drivetrain was from) all around at the time, but memory is sketchy from more than 35 years ago. This more recent photo is apparently a shot from some Italian Vogue photoshoot that Augie rented it out for. We went everywhere in this thing that summer and got pulled over a lot (it has no windshield but we always wore goggles so the cops would let us go), then we took it to a car show at the end of the summer which was the deal John made with Augie as I recall.
