We really wanted to love this car. It was great in the snow and had good sight lines for short people (important for other folks in my life). The only problem was that it would turn off completely at random times on the highway. Nobody could figure it out (back then there weren't a lot of Subaru dealers here and those that were existed only as a secondary offering) so they usually were GM mechanics who were forced to work over in the Subaru shop that day. We traded it in for a Toyota when the dealer refused to even give us a decent value on a trade-in, the fact that they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong it notwithstanding.
