Resurrected from the basement. 1979? Fugi 12 speed sport. This bike is 35 pounds! Steel tubing, but absolutely no rust. New tires and tubes, some minor rear brakes adjustment, chain greasing and general cleaning, and it rides like new.

Took the bike out today for my first road ride (about 11 miles), and it performed flawlessly! I did have to adjust the back brake and move the seat up a couple inches so it was a good thing I did a trial run the night before. Shifting, though not as easy as on the Giant, was smooth and quiet (in fact quieter than on the mountain bike!). Since this old bike is made of case hardened steel, it weighs in at 35 pounds! Only 5 less than the 40 pound Giant. The road tires and big 27" rims were perfect for the road though.
Did another ride today (~17 miles) at Hecksher State Park. Determined that the seat needs to be moved back a little bit, and I really need my Cateye on this thing (or at least a mount for it so I can use the one that's on the Giant now)
Did 24.5 miles today at Hecksher with Fred, MikeB, Iris, NancyS, and Ginger (lapped them once), met a nice guy named Carl on the ride.
Met up with Fred, Mike B, Iris, Shirley, NancyS, Charlie (who rode there from Holtsville!) and his wife Shirley at Hecksher again and did 24 miles. Next ride will be nearer to me thankfully.
