New Fostex
New studio equipment! I've been recording with an old Fostex 4-track tape drive circa 1988 for... well, 20 years!? Wow. I didn't realize it had been that long. Anyway, it was time to upgrade :) That's a Fostex MR-8HD 8 track digital multitracker connected to a Behringer B-1 condenser mic (and one of my trusty old Shure SM-58s). Unpacked, connected, set up to record a new project, four tracks of music, mix down, transferred to the Mac, tweaked the id3 and uploaded to the podcast in about 4 hours! This thing is so easy to operate, I'm kicking myself for not getting it sooner.
Things to look for in this photo: Behringer B-1 condenser mic, Old crappy headphones soon to be replaced with some nicer Sennheiser HD280 Pro Closed-Back, Shure SM-58 unidirectional dynamic mic, Logitech Z-2300 THX 200-Watt 2.1 Speaker system, Fostex MR-8HD 8 track multitrack recorder with phantom power and 4 track simultaneous record ability., Lacie Firewire 120GB HD and Lightscribe d2 CD/DVD burner, Apple 12" G4 Powerbook 1.5GHz, Logitech wireless keyboard that worked fine under OSX 10.3, but mysteriously doesn't work at all under 10.4!, Fostex X-15 4 track analog tape recorder circa 1988
