Trespassengers Debut
It’s not often that I listen to a band and immediately dig it. My taste in music is offbeat, I’ll admit. I suppose you might say I’m “well rounded” really. I like folk, Irish, and acoustic stuff and my own music is greatly influenced by those genres, but I love real blues and R&B as well. Jazz, classical (more specifically Baroque) and American popular music of the 30’s and 40’s are all important to me. I’ve been a fan of punk and Indy, alternative and death metal but none of these to the exclusion of the aforementioned. With this in mind it is with great pleasure that I announce the debut of the following band:Trespassengers is Sam Weight, Todd Slater, Mike Francisco and Brian Lang. I respect Sam more than he’ll ever know (or believe) for his awesome song writing talents as well as his Jonathan Richman like innocence. I consider Todd to be a dear friend and I hope he’ll take this the right way
Todd is blessed with the kind of genius that usually manifests itself in expression (in this case musical) that some people percieve as insanity. I’m quick to point out that its NOT insanity, but rathar an ability to see things that most everyone else can’t. The lucky thing is he’s able to listen (a rare gift) and help you to see it too. I’ll not dare to put Mike and Brian in a box tonight.
I hope that everyone who reads this site will take a few minutes to listen in to what these guys have been up to musically recently. Their music is without pretense, it is not fake. These tunes are like the classic ballads of old, they convey real feelings of real people and I am PROUD to call these guys my friends.
PS: The website designer is fantastic and accepting jobs if you have any work for him.

If I just walked into a bar and heard them I would be telling my friends to

Who knows, maybe they\’ll be playing in Colorado soon.
I want the album. When?

I suppose we\’ll need to record an album first…We have a demo - 5 songs or so which should be available sometime closer to June. Thanks for the kind words.

They’re working on an album FINALLY. Unfortunately, Mike passed away last year so it will be without his particular brand of insanity. Ned has been playing with them for some time, lending his unique form of fiddle virtuosity to the mix. I just hope they find the time to finish the CD project - they’ve amassed a mess of really good tunes and they should be enshrined in some way - captured, if you will. Oh, and I finally added a redirect to this page so that old links should work again.
