First Blizzard

Journal

We got a double whammy from two Nor’easters this weekend. I dug out from under the first, which left about 7" of heavy snow just in time to get over to the company Christmas party with the whole family. While there, the second and more fierce blizzard began. By this morning we had another 12" to 14" with drifts up to 3 feet in places! How did you fare? Luckily I had helped dig out the lady across the street from the first snowfall, so she kindly offered me the use of her snowblower for the second event. Without this tool (an older, 2 cycle low hp Craftsman) I think I would be in cardiac arrest right now! I swore to begin work on a long time dream of mine: getting an old tractor (perhaps a Ford) to which I could hook up a plow. Maybe keep it in the garage (nothing else fits). I’d like a trailer for it too, but that means I’d have to get a real truck to haul it around. Maybe just an ATV? Can you plow with an ATV?

For the last few days it has been in the 60\’s and sunny. This isn\’t fair! I want snow! I am the one that friggin\’ moved to Colorado after all! Aaaarrgggghh!!!

Yes you can plow with an ATV. My relatives in Northern NH used one for years. They gave up and bought a back-ho last year.

We got a grand total of about 11 inches down here. I was pissed. I bought a CRV just for this kind of crap and wouldn\’t you know, it\’s still in the body shop…Oh well the rent-a-car did just fine. Still, I can\’t fit my Dad\’s snowblower in the rental. I could in the CRV. It probably won\’t snow again this winter just to spite me.

    grrrr
