…and don’t bother giving me any grief for having no respect for the dead. I have hated Jerry Falwell for years - it’s no bloody secret. He was a first class scumbag, and I for one celebrate the end of his vile and hateful life. Don’t forget that this ass brought us both Reagan and Bush, thanks to the sheep mentality of millions of idiots who couldn’t reason their way out of a paper bag. Here are some of Jerry Falwell’s great contributions to history in case you missed them:

• Criticizing Martin Luther King as the leader of the ‘Civil Wrongs Movement’.
• Giving a voice to segregationists like George Wallace on his TV program in the 60s.
• Claiming that the Brown vs. Board of Ed decision was against God’s will.
• Advocating school voucher programs and undermining our public schools
• Founding the Moral Majority - you are neither, you ass.
• Opposed sanctions against South Africa (thought Apartheid wasn’t good enough reason) and called Desmond Tutu a phony
• Publishing the ‘Clinton Chronicles’, a now totally discredited slander movie against the Clintons attempting to tie them to murder and cocaine-smuggling.
• Suing Penthouse for publishing interviews Jerry gave to freelance reporters (and got paid for presumably). The suit was dismissed.
• Not ponying up the $5,000 he owed fair and square in a bet - dirtbag. He lost in court and had to pay almost $3,000 more. Good!
• Founding the sham, non-acredited Liberty University which teaches ‘young-earth’ bullshit and pumps out lawyers and political activists to further his own sham ideas of a Christian America (run by him, of course)
• Blaming pagans, abortionists, feminists, gays, lesbians, and the ACLU! for 9/11.
• Attacking labor unions by saying they need to read the bible and stop asking for money. I’m not in a union, and I say F&%# you, Jerry.
• Claiming the teletubbies Tinky Winky was a symbol of homosexuality. What an ass.

No rude comments on Non-Prophet’s Jerry post as yet, but CuriousStranger points to a Wonkette article entitled God angrily awaiting Jerry Falwell’s arrival which is cute. I like their ‘empire of bigotry’ line a lot.
