Historic Change
We’re excited about starting to collect the new presidential gold dollar coins which supposedly started coming out last month! We haven’t seen any yet ourselves, but we’re waiting. The mint plans on releasing a coin honoring each president in the order in which they served. The coins will have the same dimensions as the Sacajawea gold dollar coins, but with bolder artwork. Check out the plans here. We got a neat ‘Presidential Dollars Coin Collecting Kit’ from scholastic.com which is a lot nicer (and less expensive) than the junky ones at the shopping center, but don’t bother searching for it on scholastic, the search engine on their site blows, and it’s only indexed in Google on a PDF flyer from November. We got it through the school book order.

Got my hands on my first GW dollar. Very nice! Seems like it will be very hard to spend these babys – they’re so darn pretty, I’ll want to hang on to them unless they flood the economy with them so they’re everywhere.
