Aliens land in India?

Science

Might it be possible that aliens from outer space have landed in India? A solid state physicist working in Southern India thinks so, since the cells he isolated after a mysterious ‘red rain’ in that area seem to replicate themselves without the normally requisite DNA that usually plays such a vital role in that sort of thing.

The story
, found on Popular Science describes a scientist’s journal in the peer-reviewed ‘Astrophysics and Space Science’ which hypothesizes that microbes found in mysteriously red rain-water near Kerala, India in the summer of 2001 may contain microbes from outer space. Since many scientists believe that life may have come to this planet riding on a comet, it stands to reason that if true, we might find more life arriving in the same way. More tests are scheduled to test if the microbes *really* don’t have any DNA (until now considered a requisite for ‘life’ as we know it).
