Whatever happened to the Dell Dude?

Journal

I’m sure you all remember Steven, the Dell dude. He was the Dell mascot if you will, for a couple of years - pimping Dell computers in the persona of a 16 year old kid (he was really 20) bent on convincing mom and dad to get a Dell for himself and his buddies for any-which holiday. You may also remember that he lost that gig after an unfortunate meeting with undercover NYPD in 2003. I was wondering what had happened to this icon of PC commercialization…
I discovered that ‘Steven’ is really Ben Curtis, a serious actor now appearing in the cast of John Fisher’s romantic off-Broadway comedy JOY. The son of a now openly gay episcopal minister, Ben has studied mime, magic and acting and seems perfectly content being reminded of his past PC-hawking prowess.

I have to admit that he never made me want to run out and buy a Dell, but I thought the commercials were pretty funny.
