CSS Presentations
I was totally amazed by S5, a really cool set of scripts that runs a presentation in a browser. It’s the kind of thing that when you see it, you think “now why didn’t I think of doing it that way?” All you have to do is type your outline into the base html page and the back-end scripts do the rest. There are a bunch of pre-made templates available if you’re not interested in crafting your own, though I haven’t downloaded any yet. I was just about to start a presentation in Powerpoint (yes, Microsoft’s presentation software) for a talk I have to do soon, but I think this is much more along the lines of what I want to use to craft the opener. The talk is about a website, so running a presentation in a browser fits right in. I never did buy Apple’s keynote although I had meant to do so. Now that I visited the Appple link, I suppose I’m happy I didn’t since it just caused an error in Safari (Apple’s browser!).

The whole idea of writing and running presentations in html is fantastic! The flashy graphic-effects of these bloatware programs only distract from content to my thinking. It should be fairly easy to insert images since its only a webpage anyway. The thing I like best is since its html and css, it can get stuck onto the web without any changes at all.
