Ned’s visit
[Moved from the Message Board]
Ned came out and we jammed a little while Emily was asleep. Recorded "The New 5 Cent" which is a bluegrass tune. I need to figure out some kind of funky guitar part so I’m not just playing 1 4 5 chords. We also put down "Skinhead Stomp" which is an old favourite from jams of old, but I can’t find any old recordings. Mike M was supposed to join us for a revisit of "Far Over Yon Hills" but we were in and out, so we missed him.

You know, I never got back to this! If Ned reads this, perhaps he could post some more ideas for tunes to do. He gave me a copy of the CD: \"The World\’s Greatest Country Fiddlers\" from which he was picking out songs. Any other ideas?

Funny u should bring this up - i was starting to make a list. Tunes that i know off of that album include Whiskey Before Breakfast and New Five Cents. The tunes that i don\’t yet know off of that album include East Tennessee Blues, Rock Jenny Rock and Stony Fork. Some of the tunes i know off of \"The Civil War\" soundtrack include Ashokan Farewell, Angel Band and the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
ps
I started using my new Fostex and it\’s pretty sweet - i need more memory though (it records onto Compact Flash).

I found this list on the computer which I had typed up one day upon finding one of our old playlists before tossing it. I still remember that show at the Printer\’s Devil where the banjo player from Jack in the Green showed up (was his name \"bosley?\") and he screamed the words to \"South Australia\" with such a passion and he looked so possessed that folks in the bar were getting scared. Thankfully, Kevin Regan was there and jumped up to do some step dancing and saved the evening. Or do I have my gigs confused?

Twa Brithers Playlist
This is a playlist of tunes that Ned and I worked on for a long time
and then played out at the Printer\’s Devil. Unfortunately, only a
very few people ever heard this stuff since we didnt record it.
Other performances included a private party at the Shirley\’s Log
Cabin in Pawlet where we played up in the rafters and various
appearances at the Irish Hall #8 in Selden.
